Geroy Simon - Q&A

August 9, 2010

From Kim Conklin:

Hi Geroy, Just wondering how my boyfriend and I can get your autograph and photo during your game in Winnipeg in October?????

Kim,
The best way to get an autograph while I'm in Winterpeg would be to wait for me outside the visiting locker room.

From Paula Esposito:

Hi kid! Paul showed me this "official website" of yours. I am impressed. I decided to write you, you had better answer. I have too many questions to put them all here, about you, your family etc. Man , you're not that skinny little kid from Big 33 anymore!!!You look a little mean in the one picture on this site. Paul and I are doing fine. Kids are fine- Diana is 26 and a lawyer now in Lancaster. Dan is 28 and a juvenile probation officer at a local highschool. Paul is still practicing law and I teach school at our local middle school. We still love the Mets (stink) and the NY Giants. (we are season ticket holders now well Paul and Dan are I could care less about football except if I know someone- like all you great kids we hosted in the Big 33. We are proud of how well you are doing in football. keep it up!! But isn't Canada way too cold?????? Take care- good luck with the rest of your season.

Paula,
It's so good to hear from you! I miss you guys so much. I always wonder how my extended family is doing I want to get back to the Big 33 when my areer is over. The funny this is my son is going into 11th grade at Johnstown High and if he plays well enough he may have a shot at playing in the game in 2 yrs. How crazy would that be? Sounds like everyone is still doing well, please stay in touch!

From John Thompson:

Hi Geroy! I still hate* you! (haha) Watching you play last night against the Riders makes me wonder...have you aged at all in all these seasons? You are still so fast!! AND exciting to watch as usual, sad the game wasn't closer, but you guys will win your share this year too! I get a better feeling from Travis Lulay than I do from Casey Printers, I can't explain that, but I think he can lead the Lions for some time if given the opportunity to do so. ANYWAY, I hope you have a great year this year, and of course, I have to add, 'except against the Riders'! Best wishes to you and your teammates this year! Regards- John (Rider fan 1st, Lions fan 2nd)

John,
Im happy that the hate is there when we play the Riders. that means I'm still doing good things on the field. I have to stay on top of my game by training harder and out smarting these young guys. Thanks for the support and I understand the hate when we play the Riders.

From Rob Casey:

GO TERP GO! Geroy, I'm an alumni of the U of M as well living in Vancouver. How seriously would you consider living in Vancouver after your football career is over? It's fantastic to watch such a talented player like yourself -keep up the outstanding effort.

Rob,
I cannot belive that there is a fellow Terp in Vancouver and I have not met you yet! I would love to stay in Bc when my career is finished, it just depends on what type of opportunities I would have to stay here. I'm open for suggestons!

From Rory Ducharme:

Hi Mr. Simon. I am just wondering if you have any drills or workout routine you could pass my way. I am 18 and have never played football. I attended Mr. Stegalls blue and gold camp which was my first time wearing a helmet. I wish to play football at the u of m here in manitoba. I would appreciate any help you could pass my way which could help me excel to the next level. Bench numbers , running techniques , drills , dieting , etc..... are appreciated. Thank you for your time .

Rory,
It seems that you have gotten off to a slow start to your football career. the best advise that I could give you is to work on your agility, speed and Catching as many footballs as possible. Belive in your dreams and don't let anyone steer you from them.
